Guest guest
Hello. First of all, let me say that I fully respect each of you for the levels of energy and patience you must each have to nurse your children to ensure that they have the healthiest lives possible. I am Jodi, a 34 year old mother of a gorgeous 2 1/2 year old daughter, . I am thrilled to find this discussion board, and I am hoping that some of you may have some guidance for my husband and me. We will be meeting with our immunology doctors on Wednesday of this week (3/29/06). We are trying to determine why she is CONSTANTLY sick. Here is a little history. We are literally in the pediatrician's office every week or 2 weeks with viral throat infections, sinus infections, and strep throat (occassionally). has had her adenoids removed and ear tubes put in. The tubes have resolved the ear infections, but the adenoid removal has not stopped the sinus infections and throat infections. She has also been getting mild bloody noses recently. Three weeks ago, we had tested to determine why she is always sick. The doctors ruled out allergies. They said the status of her immune system is in question. According to the immunology nurse I spoke to last week, 's test results indicate that she is BARELY in the normal range. So, with that information, we head to the immunology appointment to meet the doctors and discuss the test results. I suspect that when we meet with the doctor on Wednesday, we will be discussing ways to get to the mid to high range of normal. So, with all of this background, here are my questions for you... 1. Are any of your children on the lowest level of normal? Did any of you get second opinions? 2. How have your doctors strengthened your child(ren)'s immune system(s)? Would you suspect that the doctors could use the same methods for us? 3. What questions should we ask the doctors? Again, I sincerely appreciate the level of parenting you all do. I realize that our situation is no where near the level of drain that your lives take. However, we want to be sure that we are doing all we can. Kindly, Jodi mother of , crazy 2 1/2 year old
