Guest guest
Hi, I have often wondered how much I should make my son with severe OCD accountable. He has never been a child that could keep his room clean or help with chores much around the house. He was released from the hospital last Friday and the dr and staff said we should try to have a plan to help keep him busy. He is 17, dropped out od school several weeks back because the OCD and depression kept him from attending on a regular basis. Its hard enough to get him out of bed, much less perform a task around the house. Any parents have any older children with OCD and if its severe are they able to help in any way at home? I thought about urging him to get a part time job but here in NC I am sure he will have to surrender his DL for dropping out of school. Little things like we all take for granted seem like a big deal most of the time for him. Should I just relax a bit and give the new medication a chance. He is taking 100mg of Anafranil per day. Thanks, Bill
