Guest guest
Where at in MI are you? You dont have to tell me, but its nice to know of someone in the same state at least with a similar problem!!Thanks for piping in!!Which charters do they teach at? And yes, I do mean Childrens special health care services IT HAS BEEN SUCH A HELP, oh, heavens. Our copays were about like--gee, should we buy GROCERIES this week or just meds? Here is the number---810-257-3112 for Sue W. she is my nurse at CSHCS and can point you in the right direction. If you qualify for WIC, you qualify for this. Brennan gets WIC too. What do you have--4 kids? Anyway, I have 4, so for a family of 6---for no cost for the CSHCS coverage, I *think* you would have to make over 65 grand a yr--which we SO DO NOT LOL!!! and even at that, you can still have the coverage for like, $20 a month, which is still cheaper than the copays. I know what you mean, too about the special milk--Brennan and Savannah are on a no milk, no eggs diet and it is so exepensive for us. WIC wont buy anything but cows milk, either. Which I think sucks. Also, I know it hurts the old ego, but last yr I ended up going down and applying for straight medicaid. I was able to get it on the kids, even though we already have private ins, and even though we have the CSHCS. It covers things that the others do not, like regular office calls--CSHCS only pays for office calls related to the " qualifying diagnosis " , so,say, if someone breaks a leg, it doesnt help. But then the straight medicaid kicks in. So that might be another option. And we did end up qualifying for SSI--after 3 yrs and hiring a legal rep, since I cant really work anymore--so that might be another way to go--but that takes a lot of time. So I would go for the CSHCS first. Also, CSHCS, if you use U of M hospital, will reimburse your gas money for every office visit, and the ramp fee. THAT is a big help to us--U of M is 70 miles from us. They may network with another big hospital too, I dont know, since I dont use another one, but you can always ask.
