Guest guest
Rogena--oh, you arent too far, couple hours maybe from us. We are maybe 20 mins north of Flint, world crime capital LOL but live in the country. We went round and round with WIC--yes they will do Lactose free, but not dairy free, which is different. Lactose free has no lactose, but does still has the cows milk protein--they also offered goats milk--but that has the same lactoglobulin protien, which is what he is allergic too--when I took in the drs note, all they did was take all the cheese and milk products OFF his coupons!! which was no help at all. finally I got in to speak with the nice nutritionist, who just restated regular coupons, and I use that milk and cheese for the other kids--and shell out the big bucks for dairy free milk and cheese. Be thankful you only have to go lactose free!!Fully Dairy free is a pain in the patoot!!! Best of luck---I hope you are able to get the ins set up tomorrow--it really doesnt take too long once you get it going. You will need access to a dr who will verify the childs diagnosis.
