Guest guest
: I asked DH and of course he never thought to ask! (Men.) I am going to call the doc today and have them send a copy of the lab results to us so we can see for ourselves what he is dealing with. I will post back when I have more information for you. On another note, I saw Letha's post indicating that elevated IgM levels in and of themselves are not always serious. She is right that when your body is fighting infections the IgM levels SHOULD be eleveated. However, if you are not ill and the IgM is high that is cause for further observation. In that patient, it is important to retest the IgM levels when they are in the middle of an acute infection to see what the body's response is. The problem with someone who has elevated levels of IgM when they are " healthy " is that they can experience fatigue and other health related issues because their body is " fighting " against something that is not there. IgM levels really should only be high during acute infection. Elevated levels of IgM in an otherwise healthy- appearing individual can also indicate that there is a masked infection or health problem in the body. I encourage you to seek further evaluation. -Rogena (Mom to 4 boys, including Cole -Partial IgA Def, GERD, possible Celiac) > > Rogena, may I ask how out of range your dh IgM was? > > Dh and I had an immune workup shortly after was found to also be > PID and my IgM was high.
