As an SLP-to-be I have to say that not ALL professionals react negatively to new

ideas. I think the important thing is the child's improvement and believe that

no one method is best and no one person has all the answers so of course it is

good to consider alternatives. And I know many that are training with me feel

the same as I do.

However, in all our training and studying, we are not taught nor encouraged to

try the " unconventional " ways. I believe it has to do with liability and

insurance and therefore the " safer " thing to do is not commit, or to stick with

the " proven " methods available. Get more from the Web. FREE MSN Explorer

Thanks for letting us know what it's like from that perspective. It helps to

hear both sides and the reasoning for reluctance, even negativity toward natural

alternatives to treat our children. I'm glad to hear there will be more open

minded professionals entering the workforce. Maybe it will start a trend!

Kind regards,

her 3rd week of EFA supplements)
