Guest guest
Here are a bunch of places you can purchase Dr. Stordy's book called The LCP Solution. The links get a little long, just search for LCP SOlution and it comes up right away. http://www.drstordy.com http://www.amazon.com http://shop.barnesandnoble.com (I also found it in the store) http://shopinserviceinc.goemerchant2.com " This important new book presents a major breakthrough in the treatment of the three most widespread learning disabilities-ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia ( " clumsy child syndrome " ). Although these conditions have reached epidemic proportions, treatment has been limited to physical therapies, educational strategies, or the controversial prescription drug Ritalin. Now B. Stordy, Ph.D., a leading researcher in the field, reveals a stunning new treatment based on nutritional supplementation with LCPs (long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids). " Here is a reprint of a past post from Liz Dunn. (thanks Liz) " Here are three books that I found useful. Two have Dyspraxia in the title, but I think it is being used interchangably with Apraxia: " Developmental Dyspraxia: Identification and Intervention, A Manual for Parents and Professionals " by Madeleine Portwood. -- There are sample IEPs for different grade levels and I copied the Kindergarten one and the school put all of it in my son's IEP. " Dyspraxia: A Guide for Teachers and Parents " by Kate Ripley, Bob Daines, and Barrett. -- This book tries to explain how to help teachers help your children in the classroom. I hope to use this book to explain my son's limitations to his first grade teacher (where his fine motor deficiencies will be a major stumbling block, and she should know that he can't help it!) " The Out-of-Sync Child: Recognizing and Coping with Sensory Integration Dysfunction " by Carol Stock Kranowitz, M.A. -- Not necessarily a book on Apraxia, but many apraxic kids also have Sensory Problems. Another book I have, but have not read yet is called: " Helping Children with Dyspraxia " by Maureen Boon. On the back it says it is a comprehensive handbook for parents and professionals. She offers information and ideas for parents and teachers who want to improve the child's movement and language abilities and thus increase their self-confidence and self-esteem. Hope this helps! Liz Dunn\Ridgewood, NJ -- 6, Oromotor Dyspraxia\Global Dyspraxia, Wesley 4 -Sensory Integration Dysfunction " Good luck denise > Can anyone tell me where I can purchase the book I see so many of you mentioning by Dr. Stordy?
