Guest guest
Dear Dennis: Thanks for your inquiry. Yes, an far infrared sauna has the benefits of both the far infrared energy and the ozone. A steam sauna has no far infrared energy whatsoever. It doesn't require the addition of steam for heat but uses the far infrared heaters to generate the heat, which penetrates deeper than surface heating does. Also, with a steam sauna you don't get any liquifaction of the bodily fluids like sebaceous sweat (fat glands) or ejection of the toxic fat soluable toxins which you would get with far infrared sauna and not a steam sauna. There are significant and profound differences, not to mention the obvious one of not sitting but rather lying down to achieve a better and more even core temperature elevation. It all depends on what you're trying to achieve. Some sauna is better than none... Are you a patient, manufacturer, ...? What is your primary interest? I've been rather general here... Guest guest
Dr. Borman, I'm just a " healthy " person trying to stay healthy. I presently have an ozone/steam sauna. My understanding is that the moisture & heat play a secondary supporting role to the ozone, enhancing its absorption into the lymphatic system and also to some extent the blood system. The ozone is the part that does the heavy lifting. My interest is in general detoxification and prevention. Dennis P.S. I'm happy that you came back to discuss these issues as in the past you would post and disappear. I hope you stick around. Guest guest
Dennis: Thanks for your thoughts. Kudos for being responsible for your own healthcare and taking care of yourself...! In regards to steam ozone sauna, we've owned all of the models at our TJ clinic and they're OK (messy and the resins holding the fiberglass tend to delaminate over time...) but I want to give our patients the benefit of deeper organ treatment and ejection of toxic fat-soluable toxins at the core of so many illnesses...therefore using the ozone combined with the FIR energy is ideal in my opinion. The moisture from the skin sweat is sufficient if the patient is continually hydrated using something like our EON water and if the capillaries and venous system is upregulated already from the FIR energy and the vessels are relaxed, production of hormones and other factors are what potentize the added oxygen/ ozone free radical cascade, we feel the results are better than we got with steam and ozone alone. Steam heat source can't provide that. I've had steam saunas in our clinc in TJ over the years...we've tried just about every model out there at some point and the results can't compare. Something is better than nothing, and I'm not trying to " dis " steam saunas...however, if I have my drothers, after using both types of systems, I'd prefer the FIR combo (obviously since I got into manufacturing them...I'm prejudiced here...) Your comment about steam facilitating ozone getting into the lymphatics unfortunately is not consistent with what we know about ozone and physiology....simply doesn't happen...ozone is instantaneously used up when it hits the water and turned into 01 and other radicals, and you don't actually get any ozone into the skin or circulation (Dr.Bocci's studies)..., also we believe that ozone is actually NOT the beneficial agent...it's the byproducts of the ozone reacting with the enzymes in the skin which stress the body with free radical by products and upregulates antioxidant mechanism (if the raw material buffers are there such as vitamin C, bioflavanoids, vitamin E, tocotrienols, SOD, etc.) If the person doesn't have sufficient raw materials or is full of toxic trans fats, you can actually accelerate skin damage/age them prematurely them from the excess free radical damage. That's why its critical the patient be detoxified and be on a good clean organic diet with plenty of pure water and exercize and sauna or sweat therapy...garbage in, garbage out as they say... The on-going clinical research at Dr.Bocci's university setting has yielded some interesting concepts...you can see a brief overview on my website about the hypothesized fate of ozone on skin and I'd recommend getting the book if you like technical info... http://www.arrowheadhealthworks.com/HBOEX.htm You're on the right track. Keep up the good work. My comments are more technical in nature and not to be construed as a criticism of steam sauna therapy which has done alot for many people. I simply went a step further, that's all. Dr.B. ****************** Dennis wrote: >Dr. Borman, > >I'm just a " healthy " person trying to stay healthy. > >I presently have an ozone/steam sauna. Guest guest
Hi Carolyn, This is interesting information. My daughter in law has three Hot Houses, which, as you know, form a whole body FAR infrared treatment similar to yours. She also has a steam ozone sauna from Saul. She does FAR infra red and then does the ozone sauna and she has not had any ozone rash. I wonder if you are finding this with your FIR/Ozone combo. Are people less inclined to get a rash with your set up than you have seen with ozone and steam? It makes sense to me that the FIR would be so healing to the tissues and so helpful in removing toxins that the ozone would not cause as much of a rucous as it does with steam, without FIR. And I am wondering if you have seen this to be true. How much is your unit? I forgot. Thanks Donna http://www.excellentthings.com Carolyn Bormann wrote: >In regards to steam ozone sauna, we've owned all of the models at our TJ >clinic and they're OK (messy and the resins holding the fiberglass tend >to delaminate over time...) but I want to give our patients the benefit >of deeper organ treatment and ejection of toxic fat-soluable toxins at >the core of so many illnesses...therefore using the ozone combined with >the FIR energy is ideal in my opinion > > > > >
