Guest guest
Hi all. I keep an email journal to friends and family about . I hope you don't mind that I cut and paste to this group. It saves a lot of typing! I have a very busy schedule. I can't wait to find the time to read posts from this group and get to know you all better. was so excited when we got to the Taekwando studio. First thing he did was run into the boys locker room, with all the other kids, and came out wearing someone else's uniform pants. Of course I couldn't go in there. Thankfully Grandpa was there and was able to go in with him and convince him to put his own pants back on. They finally came out. All the kids where on the mat ready to warm up. ran out there and got in his spot. He was there to just watch but the instructor let him join in. He made it through the first simple exercise, couldn't quite get the second one, and by the third he realized that he wasn't capable. He ran back to me sobbing. It wasn't a meltdown. I could have dealt with that better. It was a heartbreaking realization that he isn't like the other kids. He layed on his side and sobbed quietly for what seemed like 10 minutes but he was fasinated anyways. When he stopped crying he sat and watched totally fasinated for the rest of the session. By the end of it he was smiling again. The instructor said we can come back and watch as many times as we want for free until he wants to try again. So I will try again. I tell you what. My heart broke along with my son's. It is that grieving I was talking about. When you find that you need to adjust your hopes and dreams for your son. I'm crying now but hope to get it out of my system before he gets up this morning. I need to be strong for him. The Taekwando class was cool! They had about 15 kids ranging from four to about 10 years old. The instructor said few words but these kids where obedient and so eager to please and so enthusiastic! They where amazing with their routines. They looked so confident. If they messed up he just calmly corrected them and went on. They bowed and said " Yes Sir " to him all the time. Every so often one of them would have to drop and do 10 pushups but then they just jumped back in. And they where so cute in their little uniforms. =) So I will bring him back again and we will watch for as long as he wants to. He's awake now and just crawled up on my lap. I'm done crying now. How can I cry when I have this sweet little boy snuggled up on my lap! He is my joy. Time for breakfast. Today rides his horse Dennis at the Right Path. Now riding a horse is one thing he can do with confidence! He's my little buckaroo. Jodi DeleteReplyForwardMove...
