I just got back from the naturopath that tested my non-OCD'er 8 yr.

old for allergies and heavy metals. The heavy metals came back high

and he is allergic to wheat, dairy, gluten?, peanuts, soy and eggs.

Can I hear back from anyone who's gone through this process? These

are all the foods that he eats, basically. He lives on pbj

sandwiches, dairy, bagels, pizza, chicken nuggets, etc. The typical

junk food kid diet with the occasional apple or peach thrown in. I

don't think he'll eat if I try the diet change. Anyone see a

difference in their OCD children after trying it? After how long?

Thanks--I'm feeling quite overwhelmed!

Hi! That does cut out a lot of foods! Does he like other foods but

just prefers his favorites or is he that limited in his diet?

was a very picky eater and limited on the foods he could/would

eat. Texture was a problem for some foods. So trying a " diet " with

him seemed impossible too.

Maybe you could cut out one category at a time? A couple weeks

without wheat, then try to phase out something else.... I know over

the years, some parents have noticed positive changes when eliminating

a substance/food that their child was allergic to, including food

dyes, etc.

I did find this site that also suggests " good substitutes " for those

allergies:

http://www.pccnaturalmarkets.com/products/grocery/tips_allergies.html

Also these (some info on sites but some sell products):

http://www.thenewhomemaker.com/node/68807

http://www.foodallergy.org/recipes.html

http://www.cherrybrookkitchen.com/dietary-concerns.html

http://www.freedomfoods.com.au/food_allergy.html

Hope above helps a little. Some of the recipes looked good!

Wow, that is a lot, and a big change for a child! I would start small and let

him know why.

What are the heavy metals? WHat does that mean?

My OCDer and myself have horrible food allergies. One thing is for sure, change

your childs diet. No, they are not going to like it, but YES you will see a

difference in all areas of the childs life.

Not only am I allergic to all the things that you listed, so are my children. I

can help you with recepies and fast food resturaunts that they can eat at. I

can also help you with hidden ingrediants. Email me if you like:

When used separately, women and alcohol can be lots of fun, but when used

together, they can make you a dumbass.
