Guest guest
My daughter had a fever induced seizure about 2 years ago, and she has been on ProEFA since Nov. 7 with no problems. I also believe that these seizures may be genetic, because I had two when I was young and my brother had one. It has been noted that kids of a parent that had seizure has a higher chance of getting them. Also, why would the ProEFA cause a seizure? >From: buddog000@... >Reply- >< > >Subject: [ ] SEIZURE >Date: Mon, 10 Dec 2001 14:53:18 EST > >I WAS WONDERING IF ANYBODY ON THIS SITE HAS A CHILD THAT HAS HAD A SEIZURE >OR TWO FROM AN ILLNESS,AND DOWN THE ROAD PUT THERE CHILD ON PRO EFA?DID THE >SEIZURE ACTIVITY RE-APPEAR?I AM KIND OF HESITANT TO PUT MY 30 MO.OLD SON ON >PROEFA BECAUSE HE HAD 2 SEIZURES 1 1/2 YRS AGO FROM A VIRAL/FEVER >ILLNESS,WITH NO PROBLEMS SINCE.JUST A LITTLE WORRIED THIS MIGHT TRIGGER >MORE SEIZURES.ANYONE HAD ANY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS,OR WENT PROBLEM FREE >WHILE ON PRO-EFA?THANKS,BRIAN > > _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp
Guest guest
- my child had about a 4 month period of seizure activity 1-1/2 years ago. I have had him on cod liver oil (which has a much higher portion of EPAs and DHAs than ProEFA) for six months and startedPoEFA 2 weeks ago. I think it would only be the GLA in the ProEFA which would be a concern but it is low (40 mg.) No seizure problems, but he has begun squinting one of his eyes again, something which went away with the cod liver oil. I am watching this closely. Guest guest
My daughter got sick when she was 6 weeks old. Her sodium level dropped which caused her brain to swell, and she had seizures. She now has permanent brain damage. She is at risk for having seizures and epilepsy. I have been very hesitant to try the supplements. We've had to watch which vaccines she receives because of her risks for epilepsy. I'm going to mention the supplements to our pediatrician and to our neurologist, but I'm not sure about them. Guest guest
Dear Suzi, I am no doctor. But my daughter is on quite the level of depakote 4 times a day for grand mal seizures. When I planned to start her on the supplements, my pharmacist told me to not give her the fish oil within 2 hours of the depakote because it could impede the absorption of the depakote. When I started her on it, I cold see more of what I call " pre-seizure " activity. I just watched her closely and shortly this settled down. She takes it fine now even if she gets it close to her depakote. Hope it helps. We were very pleased with her initial reactions to the Coromega. Didn't see much with the ProEFA after a few days.
