I feel your pain. I was just having a " disagreement " with my husband yesterday about how he doesn't appreciate the amount of work that it takes to keep all of this straight, and why it stresses me out sometimes. Just for one procedure I would like him to deal with it from start to finish. Oh well...the fun of being the mother. Guest guest
I am truly lucky b/c my hubby understands! He old me today that I need to call them and tell them I am going to start charging them for doing THEIR job! Wouldn't that be wonderful! I feel your pain. Guest guest
oh, the insurance woes. Let me tell you, last yr on May 1st, we got a new insurance. I gave everyone a new card. Quest diagnostics(where we go about every month for bloodwork for someone), continues to bill our former insurance. I have called them, politely explaining we no longer have BCBS, but Humana(which sucks). I still get billed for every single labwork. Every one, no matter which family member it is. Last summer, I went to Quest labs, walked around the desk, and handed the card to the receptionist and said " I want to make sure this is in your system. Please do it in front of me " . she did. 2 weeks later, I got billed for labs again. I called the number on the statement, which was a wrong number to begin with. It was a pizza place. So I went online to their site. no help there!!Finally I got the number to corporate, who apologized and took down everyones social #'s and member I.D. numbers, and said the problem would be fixed. 2 weeks later, more bills. I called corporate again. OOOPPs! they said, that shouldve been fixed, ignore any more bills from us. Got several more, I ignored them, till I got some stating that we were being taken to collection for non payment and for saying we had BCBS when we didnt. I called the company again. I explained, very s.l.o.w.l.y. that we have not had bcbs in months, they were given a new copy of my card at the time I got it, I have repeatedly tried to rectify the situation, and again, they took down the socials and member id numbers and was assured it was taken care of. a couple weeks ago I got several bills. All four kids and me.OVer a thousand dollars I owe, apparantly, because BLUE CROSS DENIED MY COVERAGE AGAIN. well, duh, havent had it in almost a yr. I was so MAD. Just SHAKING MAD. I sat right down at the computer and typed up a not so pleasant letter stating the facts, when my ins changed, how I notified the company when it did, that I have made several calls to different offices of their company, and felt that I was being harassed and by their own ignorance no less. I mean, HOW MANY times can I tell them they are billing the wrong ins? So, i wrote, in summary, this is when my ins changed. YOu have harassed me this amount of times. I have done my part. I will not be harassed any more b/c you continue to bill the wrong ins. I cant make you bill the right one, but you would GET PAID if you did. I said that I have 4 chronically sick kids (hey, you have to play that card when you can, not much silver lining there), way too much stress, and dont need more from them when I have done all that is humanly possible to correct the situation. THEN, I copied all the insurance cards, front and back, and wrote in GIANT letters, THIS is our insurance, notice it is NOT BCBS. THis is the kids secondary, it is called MEDICAID. It picks up any leftover balance for them. Nor is this one called BCBS. Please make sure this is taken care of. Last week, I got a bill from Quest for my bloodwork. It was denied by blue cross, because I did not have blue cross at the time I got the bloodwork done. I tore it up. Valarie K.
Guest guest
OH MY GOSH! We've had problems with Quest, too. Nothing like that, but I've had to call them over and over again. Thankfully we don't use them any longer. We could make a sitcom. Of course after the first episode no one would watch because it would be WAAAaaaaay too stressful. Guest guest
Now that is pretty funny and we shall see if it goes to the proper chanels in time.
