Guest guest
Intresting finding.... I found with this PID - Wiskott Aldrich Syndrome - the blood platelets are low and small. That is where my son does differ. My sons platelet count is 277. However I do not know if they are normal sized or small. What is intresting is that almost every other symptom of this PID he does have. 0. It is a boys syndrome (my son is deffinately a boy!) 1. Sepsis (he had sepsis when he was in the NICU) 2. Brain Bleeds (He had a grade 1 in the NICU) 3. Bruising or pitichei (sp??) (He gets pitichei often - normally with viruses) 4. Blood in stools (His rectum tears with every stool and bleeds) 5. Bleeding gums (when brushed his bleed) 6 Recurrent upper and lower respritory infections (my son has had several in his life - he is only going to be 2 years old) 7. Egzema (sp??) He has it - and since he was born almost if you take off his shirt or diaper he scratches and he scratches at night a lot 8. Low t and b cell count with low function - he definately has low t cell count and I can't recall the b cell count but he did not respond well to strep - hence, low b cell function Hmmmmmm..... He does NOT have low platelet count.... What can we make of this?? anything?? Kim --------------------------------- DSL Something to write home about.
