--RE: any advice?

Funny thing for us (we homeschool) is that we had already made the choice to

homeschool before our two little guys were born with illnesses. was

2 ½ and we were living in San —we just knew homeschooling was right

for our family. If I were you, I would just tell the folks who tell you

that you need to homeschool to STAY OUT OF YOUR BUSINESS!!! Looking back,

I don’t think we would have chosen to homeschool based on the boys’

illnesses…… Not sure that this makes sense…. I’m sure if we had not

already chosen it, we would have THOUGHT about it—but there is more to

making the HS choice than just having a sick child. I always tell people

that homeschooling is a way of life and it really isn’t for everyone. And

THAT is FINE….

We actually homeschool for religious reasons….and most people assume we

homeschool because of and ph having an immune deficiency. I don’t

even bother to correct them b/c I know those who know us and are a part of

our lives know why we chose to homeschool…..

That being said, we have the opposite problem …we are always having to be on

defense about why we homeschool! LOL

Iam glad you took my post in the tone in which it was intended, not as

an argument, just as a clarification. and I do appreciate everyones

input---its just that I get this so much--why dont I just

homeschool---and I feel like--and I dont just mean this group, but

real life people I know--I feel like I am always on the defense about it.

I guess it just " gets my dander up " when I keep hearing it over and

over at home, church, personal life, etc etc, " why dont you just

homeschool your kids? " when we have already made this decision and its

working so well. I tend to get frustrated easily.

And, its just been a tough week. So, thanks.
