Take Imodium and drink lots of fluid if you get this! It empties your

stomach, fast. Imodium works pretty good to stop the gas, pain , and, well,

you know.

I had it a few weeks ago.

I was on the 6 step program: Had to stay within 6 steps of bathroom.

Just had the stomach virus from hell

Oh God, I have no been so sick in my life, dont know if I had the norwalk

one or not, but Im somewhat better now 36hours later, it completely ruined

our christmas plans. Friday morning I was to wake up at 6 to leave by 7 for

my parents in NC, I had an appointment with my rhuemy in NC who I needed to

see desperatly for refills on my pain meds well I wake at 5 with some

diarrhea, no biggie, I have it all the time with irritable bowel but when I

began throwing up I knew it was more, I literally threw up 12 times

yesterday throughout the day and night, and the diarrhea at least 20 times,

Im not exaggerating. I tried calling my military doc around 4pm to get

some phenergan to stop the vomiting only to find out that the military docs

don't have anyone on call for them after they leave and if you get sick on

weekend you just have to go to the hospital, I didnt want to do that at all

if I could avoid it, through I knew I was dehydrated because I had the most

god awful leg pains that were completely diferent from my normal leg pains,

hubby said it was muscle cramping from the dehydration, but nothing would

stay down. I got my phenergan by calling my Rheumy in NC and his assistant

called me in some, now IM able to hold down the liquids if I drink slowly.

I guess I caught this either from my hubby or the boys I keep, my hubby had

diarrhea on tuesday enough for him not to go to work, but he didn't have any

vomiting and he was better by that afternoon, same with little andrew.

Possibly it's the same because the diarrhea was the worst part and maybe

since Im on enbrel I couldn't fight it off like they could.

So now my parents are going to come here tomorrow and stay through christmas

with us, but they cant stay here at our house, even though hubby has cleaned

and disinfected everything in site, I know viruses can live on surfaces

sometimes for 5 days or longer. So they got them a condo on the beach,

which is only a few miles from our house anyway and they will stay there,

they got a 2 bdroom so we can stay over too and we can take the dog with us,

the weather is going to be great Sunday and Monday high's in the 70;s so

they can walk on the beach and go to the lighthouse and everything. I have

to keep the boys monday anyway.

So now it looks like my parents will stay the whole week and I found out

denise doesn't need me to watch the kids again until Jan 6th when they

return from their dad's so we will go back with my parents and spend new

years there, at least I get to see my granny over the holidays and Rocky.

And try to work in an appoitment with my rheumy and possible ortho doc. I

did some xrays last week and it confirms what I thought about my right hip,

most of the cartlidge is gone, alot of bone on bone contact that is why Im

having so much more hip pain but I will not have this one done as quicky as

I did my other, Im holding out for stem cell research and hopefully they can

clone my cartlidge and replace it. As long as they continue to give me the

pain meds for it I will be okay. right now the darvocet controls the pain

most of the time but it usually takes 2. Sometimes I have to add 2 vioxx

and that combo darvocet/vioxx works well so far. I hope I dont need to

move on to stronger meds but I will if I have to delay the surgery.

well Im going back to lay down. OH and my little dog Max threw up a litle

while ago just out of the blue he hadn't ate anything at all, I hope he cant

catch it, but I saw on animal planet a cat that had caught a stomach virus,

I didnt even know animals could catch them. Normall they only time he

barfs is when he just ate something really fast, or something too sweet like

krispy kreme donuts..LOL./
