Guest guest
Dear Ken: The unit we have made is NOT the same as the Korean unit you're discussing since it is built under contract with different glues and other components. Don't make statements you don't know the facts about...just because it looks the same on the outside does not mean it is the same...I think it is a different manufacturer, however. There is another small family owned manufacturer in Korea who makes another dome unit which isn't the same at all...I have a Korean business partner and we import/export alot of products from Korea, and I'm assured by our engineer in Korea whom I trust since he works also for Hundai and is a FIR specialist, that it is different than anything else offered out there including the units from the other manufacturer. The lowest price ($2495), non-ozone unit is the one that is identical to the unit I have access to at a cost of $1695. I don't think the fellow imports the ozone compatible units although I cannot tell what " xtras " that unit has except for the tubing, etc. for an extra $300. I know the unit I can offer is identical to the $2495 unit. >Best wishes and much love, Ken > >Ken Gullan >Institute for Research Integration (IRI), San Diego, CA 92106-2424 >IRI is a 501C(3) non-profit corporation established to help children with developmental difficulties. >To contact me off-list use kengullan@... or call 619-222-1104 > > Re: FIR dome or sauna? for Ken > > > Just a note on this. Guest guest
In my early days of looking for an affordable FIR sauna alternative I invested in a FIR pad that was designed to be layed on and then a similar FIR pad was placed over the top of the body. The top pad had flaps along each side that would drape down so that the environment was closed. The fabric that you layed on was some kind of polyurethane material, some similar type fabric would have to be used to prevent perspiration from soaking into it. The elements that emitted the FIR rays was inside the pad. I suspect that the fabric could have blocked some of the FIR energy from penetrating the body. The head was exposed to the outside cooler air. It was nice, but did not do as well creating a sauna environment. I sweated okay but not as much as the 2 FIR heaters do for sauna in the bathroom, or the healthmate sauna. I think that there are two reasons for this, the head being exposed to the cooler outside air. Much of our body heat escapes via the head. And also, breathing the cool air in the room causes some cooling of the body via the lungs. Also, using this device I would be dressed in a cotton sweat suit and cotton socks on feet and hands so that I did not feel the vinyl against my skin. The clothing would also reduce the amount of FIR entering the body. A couple of the ladies that used it reported getting headaches. I suspect that this may have been for a couple reasons. The head being outside the mat sauna, in the cooler air, probably did not experience as much vasodilation as the trunk of the body and may have had some problems with the increased circulation. Also, lying in the prone position would also make blood flow to the head easier. It does make a nice sleeping pad. Each part of the unit, the bottom pad and the top pad, have seperate control units so it could be used for two single twin-bed FIR heating pads. This device is not the same as the one shown on the link so a direct comparison can not be made. I have no experience with the device shown in the link. All the best, Jim > > What does anyone think of this: > > http://www.thewolfeclinic.com/biomat.html >
Guest guest
A friend of mine, a former lymie (she's mostly well now), used it when she was not as well and really liked it. Just curious. And there are those LED pads too. All these things are rather expensive tho, for just lying on something. > > > > What does anyone think of this: > > > > http://www.thewolfeclinic.com/biomat.html > >
