Guest guest
I had an appt for my 5 yo dd to see her therapist this morning. We were going to talk about school, she starts kindergarten next week. It was cancelled, the therapist is sick. I called to reschedule and we cant get in until about a week after school has started! The point was to talk BEFORE school, to help ease some of her current anxiety. UGH! I understand getting sick, but now I cant get her in. Grrrr. We have seen one other therapist there when her regular one was on maternity leave, but dd doesnt have the relationship with her like she does with her regular one. I dont know if it would be better to go talk to the different one, or just not to go at all, and try to deal with things on my own. <sigh> Sharon
Guest guest
how annoying - I'd call and tell them she HAS to be seen before school - IF they don't though I'd skip seeing one she's not comfy with - maybe she'll surprise you and be busy and not anxious - or maybe she needs to experience it and then talk to someone about what's bugging here there??? just some thoughts - good luck - remember we'll cry together - same day - the 5th right??? Guest guest
I would call back and ask for the therapist to call you directly. Explain directly to ther therapist the need to come in. They can squeeze people in or stay a little late or come in a little early to meet the needs of their patients. When my son was bad, ours stayed until 8:00 one evening just so that we could get in quicker because she was truly committed to helping him. Yes, certainly you can understand being sick but starting kindergarten is very big for a 5yr old and that is what you have a therapist for! kidsnpets <sdonovan1@...> wrote: I had an appt for my 5 yo dd to see her therapist this morning.
