I will be interested to read what others say. My 9 year old son can’t stand

to have me talk to other people. Its like he is extremely jealous. Friends

and family have all noticed it. If I am talking to someone he always rudely

interrupts and in a since tries to have the focus on him. I have read about

reassurance, is that what that is? Along with that my son has his worst

behaviors around other people, he talks like a baby, squirms, gets loud,

extremely annoying. Its like is is a anxiety thing but I can’t figure out

why. He does this even in our house when others come over. This is probably

one of the worse things I am dealing with that is causing me to hibernate

from others which I know is not good.

Look forward to hearing what others say about this.

Subject: Clingy Question..

I was wondering if any of you have seen this symptom. I have read

many times that it goes along with OCD. Here's what's been going on:

My husband, son, and I are very close. is our only child so

we pretty much have done everything with him. Since this OCD

(whether it's PANDAS or not) has started is EXTREMELY cling to

me. He wants to be close to where ever I may be. He wants alot of

hugs and alot of reasurrance.

Last night I was on the phone talking to a girlfriend. He wanted me

to talk to him because he was having bad thoughts about getting the

stomach flu. I told him he would have to wait and we had talked

about that earlier. After I got off the phone he was almost like he

was mad at me. He will also talk in a whining kind of voice. He

typically never does any of this stuff...and it's all or at least

most of it is geared to or happens around me.

I read where it was typical to see age regression for a while in a

Pandas child. Also, he has been achy which I also saw was a side

effect of Pandas OCD.

Has anybody else had this stuff happen? He almost seems like he is

obsessed with me at times. Thanks for your help.

I think that the clinging is a symptom of his anxiety. Hopefully, as

his anxiety decreases, his behavior will change.

Dana,

Both of my kids have done this in the past , and still do it at times.(they

both have ocd) my nt dd has never done this.My son has always complained of

every body ache also. Both of my kids are also very whiny. I believe these

symptoms go along with the anxiety.

Hi,

I forgot to mention , I remember in the past , my dd was so clingy, if I had

people over she would have to sit with me on the couch and be right up against

me. She will do this now still , at times when we go places, and she is 9 yrs

old. She has always had severe separation anxiety, (along with her other issues)

Just curious, has anyone experienced their kids as babies getting so upset

that they held their breath and passed out? Both of mine did that just had a

thought that it might be related to all this.
