Guest guest
Hi Pattymelt, What if it was a bingo! Have members of the group purchase bingo cards that are color coded by the week, or numbered drawing, say for 3 months at a time. At the end of each week, or every other week, whichever is easier to manage, a winner(s) is announced. Cards can be purchased through the mail. Revenues received from cost of bingo cards go to administrative costs of STILL'S BINGO, and the remainder goes to ISDF. You can post the winner(s) every Friday. If there isn't a winner for a particular week, the game keeps going until somebody wins. Then the card color of the next game is announced. Everyday, 4 numbers are drawn and posted to the STILL'S BINGO SITE. Personnel administering the drawing of STILL'S BINGO, and family members are not authorized to participate, due to confict of interest. This idea allows members to make donations via the mail, the same as if we were donating to homeless pets foundations, or the blood bank. All your doing on the internet is providing a daily update on the STILL'S BINGO drawing, and the eventual winner. No rules violated there. Something to consider.... God Bless You for Trying, Bob & Vivian Mirabal I am so sorry NO RAFFLE thru the internet I am so sorry to say there will be no raffle thru the internet for the International Stills Disease Foundation. There are laws and regulations that fall under the gaming rules that includes raffles for non profit organizations that prohibit using the internet cable and phone lines for this purpose. I will be checking into the state rules and regulations thru the Dept. of Justice to see if another avenue is open to us. I am terribly sorry and apologise for getting our hopes up before I had found the complete information. I will post about any alternative means of fundraising I find that is legal for the group. Guest guest
Alas Cara, we have to brainstorm on another day because I have an afternoon apt down the mtn. But yes I have been thinking that we may do it just by giving anyone that reqests a ticket for a chance. If no price is set and anyone who wants can have tickets gets one, it puts it into another catagory. In other words, FREE tickets/donations are always accepted. I still am reading though and need more information on the use of the internet lines just to be safe. I don't especially like the auction idea because so many of us are poor in money and I would want everyone to have equal opportunity but by doing it where everyone could have a ticket regarless of a donation the laws are quite a bit looser. Thank you and everyone in advance because we will find a legal way. Good day my silly friend I must be off but will try and make chat tonight. Till soon, Melt > > Hi Patty, > It's me, the insane one!!! =) I was thinking for a while now on the " No Raffle " on the internet. What about Auction? Works almost the same. Bidders could pay to Stills what they bid up to if they wanted the same as if they bought tickets but did not win.
