Guest guest
Hello everyone, This is probably the most stupid thing I've ever done. My husband gave me two hours to pack up and fly back to Michigan to surprise the kids and in my hurry, after I made up my Enbrel kit with the ice pack in it and two doses, I stuck the rest of the Enbrel in the freezer. Big surprise when we came home yesterday and I looked for it in the ice box and couldn't find it anywhere. I know a thief would have no use for it so I couldn't imagine what happened to it. I went into the freezer to take out some chocolate candy that I like to eat frozen and ................. there it was, staring me in the face. Has anyone that's on Enbrel ever done that and if so, have they thawed it out and used it? I immediately called the Enbrel company but they were all gone for the weekend and will not be able to get back to me until Monday......the day I " poke " myself. It's too early to reorder as my insurance only gives me a month at a time and I've only used a half month's package so far. I've frozen another half month's usage.................... ( I also wonder, if I can't use it and I have to wait another two weeks to even reorder, will I feel pain immediately? Geeeeeez.........I'm glad it's at the end of the year and I'm not starting out with such an error for the new year. My husband says I've made popsicles out of it...................( xxoo Carmen
Guest guest
How about calling your pharmacy and see what they say about it. Perhaps they could also help you out in dealing with your insurance company if it turns out to be unusable. I've never frozen Enbrel but have performed more than my share of 'dumb acts'. Blame it on the 'brain freeze' (pun intended) we all share thanks to Stills! Good luck, Barb
