Guest guest
Help Help! Does anybody remember how back in 2002, I broke my toe five minutes before my dinner guests were to arrive. I spent Christmas Eve in the ER while the dinner went on at my house without me. I THINK they gave me a tetanus shot... I think I recall being perplexed why. In hindsight, if they did, it was because they felt I needed to stay boosted because I was obviously accident-prone!! Does anybody remember me talking about getting the shot????? Last night I cut my toe on an old metal bedframe in the garage. It is dusty and dirty and slightly rusty. The cut is not deep at all, more of a flap of skin but it bled quite a bit and is oozing today. I washed it within a minute and then poured 1/4 bottle of peroxide on it, followed by Bactroban. Today is my birthday and I REALLY don't want to drive 25 miles to my doc during thunderstorms for a painful tetanus shot!! If I knew I got one for sure only two years ago, I'm covered! I called my current doc, previous doc, insurance company and hospital trying to look at the records, nobody has a copy. I have misplaced mine. I even checked old e-mail messages to see if I mentioned it to anybody. Sigh. Any thoughts? Thanks -- (mom to , age 6, dairy intolerant-related GERD -- currently has polysaccharide antibody def, previously had transient IgG, IgA, t-cell & other defs... and also to Kate, age 2-1/2, more dairy intolerant but very healthy!)
