My husband and I attended a BMT conference at our local children's hospital

for medical personnel (he had been invited by the company he worked for at

the time). There were physicians from all over the country who discussed

their research. The general concensus at the conference was that the 70/30

rate was an average for all bone marrow transplants, regardless of the

underlying disease. Some of the physicians specifically discussed cancer,

but several docs presented on non-cancer treatments, including

immunodeficiencies and auto-immune disorders (like rheumatoid arthritis).
