She likes having the control. Can you tell she is a female??? Hi Xan, I think this is a symptom that many of our kids have. My son is the same age and also wants all of the control. He has done his own strep tests, removed needles, put in the vials for blood draws, etc. It's common, I think for our kids to feel as if their lives are out of control--for my son, it was, he had chronic infections. This is a way for him to take some of the control back. I think it's very empowering for them!
