Guest guest
Hi my name is D'Ann and I am new to this group. I have five children two boys and three s. I have dealt with asthma issues for about 9 years with two of my other children, but life for my nineteen month old has been very complicated. I am glad to have found this site, it's very comforting to see that see some of the problems that Landon has are the same as others so that it may be somewhat normal for their condition. Landon was born at term and the first day I had him I knew something wasn't all together right with him. He kept choking when he would try to nurse or take a bottle they kept telling me he just needed a little help learning in the nursery. We went home with his gagging problem and at four weeks ended up in the hospital with rsv for two weeks, he got out and went back in two days later for another week still with rsv. Then he was diagnosed with reflux, he had it so bad that he would not wet his diapers and would dehydrate. We shortly ended up back in the hospital with severe asthma which became a monthly routine a week in and three out. We had two upper gi's confirming the reflux and a swallowing problem. At the same time he would have ear inections constantly so now we have had a second set of tubes. He has been in the hospital 14 times since birth. The immuno that he saw in December said they thought he would just outgrow this igg level was 266 and will recheck in summer, but since January the infections have become more predominant thanthe asthma. Asthma now seems to be a result of the infection. Since January we have pneumonia twice, rsv again, roseolla, bronchitis twice. We are seeing a new immuno tommorrow we are in houston and although tx childrens is world famous i felt i left the immunologists office with more questions than answers. They were very short and sweet and also lost some of his labs (the skin tests). I am nervous though about changing but we will just have to see. I appreciate any advice anyone has since we are new at this. thanks, d'ann (Five beautiful kids Ryland 12, asthma, Aubrey 9, normal, Emmy 5, asthma, Annie 3 shes fine and Landon 19 months, igg disorder, asthma, reflux, swallowing disorder sinus, ear and allergy problems
