Guest guest
Belle had her 6th cast applied on Friday and I just spoke with our surgeon this morning and there is again no improvement. We started with an upper thoracic curve of 73 degrees last December and we have been holding at early 50's since the first cast was applied. He said there is no improvement in rotation and the rib shape is now showing signs of compression and due to the worst part of the curve sitting at her shoulder blades, they can only push so hard there. There is the suggestion it is time to brace after the next cast for the remainder of summer to prevent rib deformity. He is not fixed on this option. I'm really concerned given we are still in the 50's that we'll regress back to where we started if not worse in a brace. Yet, I don't want my poor darling to have compressed ribs. What to do?
