Guest guest
Kieran is in Salt Lake City tonight. He is getting his 9th cast there tomorrow morning. Kieran is 3 years old and started casting with an 85 degree curve, 90 degree rotation and 110+ degree RVAD. He is there with his dad. Me and our daughters remained home on the West Coast of Canada. Kieran currently has the worst sore he has ever had. I don't think he could have gone much longer before it would have been a full blown cast sore. Despite changing his undershirt several times his skin and the underlying meat had a rough time. To me, during our video Skype, he looked good aside from the sore and I am waiting to hear how tomorrow goes. Knowing he has such poor skin quality will make this next cast a tough one for me as I will worry until it comes off and we see the condition of his skin at that time. The team at Salt Lake City has always done a great job at accommodating pressure spots in his new casts and he has always improved in these casts, although his in cast numbers have gone both ways from one cast to another. I am working on a plan in my mind right now to help his skin in his next cast and I am hoping all goes well. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
