Guest guest
Would like to hear from anyone doing a home programme. We have been funded by the LEA for VB 6 months intial 20 hours per week from what I can gather at a cost that would normally be a year 40 hours although this is through a provider so extra cost there. To my surprise I discovered that this had been agreed and started 2 weeks ago, we did have the initial consultation but I assumed that was an agreement for that period only between LEA and provider and not the entire 6 months, no one actually bothered to tell me, although it was strongly suggestive, but definitely not " official " can you believe that? What I am saying is that this month May is part of his 20 hour funding. Anyway what I need to know is exactly what should be happening? I thought a provider would recruit and train the therapists who would then have a starting date, we have funding for 3 therapists. I'm trying to keep this short unsuccesfully, anyway what happened was the consultant and supervisor turned up with one therapist untrained save for what she may learn over that weekend along with ourselves. This therapist has been for 3X2 hourly sessions where she doesn't seem to have much idea to move it on from the initial stuff done over the weekend, consequently is now pretty bored with it. The consultant herself was amazing with , but she is not here other than scheduled monthly visits. I contacted the consultant and she tells me we should be just repeating what she did until next consultation mid June. Without going into too much detail I really need to be on top of this so any advice would be really appreciated. Also how often should an ABBLS be done? We have sorted out the legal stuff regarding getting his 20 hours over the entire period but who wants to get involved in a battle afterwards or even during this time? I need to be taking control straight away. TIA Vicky
