Guest guest
Hey everyone! It has been a long time since I have been on here. My daughter Abby started out with a 48 degree curve in Nov. 2010. Now, she is at about 6 degrees in her 6th cast. This will be her last cast. She will be getting it taken off on Feb. 15th. Then, she will be wearing a brace. So, here is my question - I have been waiting for her casting to be over with to potty train her. But, now I am wondering how to do this. I mean, do I put her pullups on over top of her brace so that it will be easier for her to take them off/on by herself? And if I do this, will the brace get wet? If I put the brace on over top of her pullups, I will have to take the brace off every time that she goes potty. And that is too much time out of her brace. She is supposed to only have the brace off for 1 hour a day. I know that most toddlers will sit on the potty for a long time and just look at books and could wind up sitting there for a good 30 minutes before doing anything. Multiply this by 7-8 times a day and that is way too much tiem out of her brace. So, advice please!!!!
Guest guest
Do you mean just let her wear a pair of regular panties over her brace? Or do you mean let her go naked from the waist down? > > Go pants free! That is the easiest. I found that the brace and a pull up > or diaper was SO painful that I told my son after 1 week no more. Guest guest
Naked from the waist down. That is what we found most effective until her got the hang ov it. Then just pants and eventually undies.Jenn
