No Tame it does make me feel a little better. Like I said I just want to know if this is just how his tummy will look. It looks abnormal to me especially when I look at his brother's little tummy that is much higher up bulging out. You know?

This won't make you feel better BUT benjamin's looks exactly the same. When he had his cast off for 2 days it looked like that. It looked really bad in the cast they cut off..... I can't see it as well obviously since he's in cast again, but it's still there. I thought it might be due to pressure????? Or tone in tummy muscles maybe? Keep me posted on what they say!

OK if you saw my post last night about 's tummy bulge this is what I am talking about. This picture was taken this evening. He had eaten about 2 hours earlier and had in fact gone poop. Does this look weird to anyone else? Am I freaking out over nothing?

I guess I just want to know if this is natural due to the many years of his tummy being held in by the brace....since 2007.

Also I did talked to his orthotist and we will go in for a brace check. She said it didn't sound like anything to worry about. She thought maybe he had grown taller thus forcing the tummy out the bottom of the brace, but look at this picture.......this is NOT in the brace and he looks like this. So you can imagine what it looks like with the brace on.

Hi tasha..

Just saw the photo and I agree that the tummy bulge is low, but I don't know if it's abnormal or not.... I would check with his pedi if you are unsure. His ribs look great though! He only wears it at night. So the picture was taken after the brace had been off for 13 hours. And that is what his little tummy looks like.

Yep, that's what the brace does to 's tummy, too; although I'll have to double check to see if it stays like that after we take it off, as well.

Has ever gone without his brace for an extended period of time? Just thinking that maybe once it's off for longer than a few hours, the organs or whatever will just migrate back to their correct positions...?

I know Joy's tummy looks a little different as well.  Her whole torso seems different to me than my other girls. :)   I will say that Joy had a hernia right after her cast and into her brace.  Hers was lower down in the groin area but they can be higher up too.  Although just from looking at the pic it doesn't look like that ( however I can't tell if one area is bulging more than another) but I agree with checking with the Pedi just to make sure.  Then you aren't worrying about it.  I'm not saying this to make you worry just letting you know what we experienced.  Hope you get an answer soon.

Thanks Leah. I hadn't even thought about a hernia, but years ago while casting that was fresh on my mind. I'll have to look more tomorrow.

I'll keep you posted.
