Guest guest
My daughter is happiest in the carseat. I think she likes that position, especially when she is sleepy. I always try to get my daughters back close to the back of the carseat as possible, I know sometimes she gets at an angle and gets uncomfortable.I think that is the hardest part when you don't know what is bothering them and they can't tell you.Is he fine everywhere else? I remember a mom telling me that the incline of their carseat was putting too much pressure on the legs, but we have never had any problems other than her wiggling and getting uncomfortable. Good luck! From: psuvoy@... <psuvoy@...>Subject: Car Rides - Screaming Childinfantile scoliosis treatment Date: Sunday, November 27, 2011, 6:10 PM Our son had his first cast put on about 4 weeks ago. Since then every time we take a ride in the car he screams until he gets out. We have check him over to see if there is any red marks on his body that would be bothering him, but nothing shows. We can put our fingers between his cast and skin with no problem. Since he can't tell us, we don't know what else to do. Any suggestions? Guest guest
Three suggestions: reclining the car seat or getting one that does. Try sweatpants, elastic waist...anything but jeans with zipper/button...it dug into my son while riding and he screamed the whole time. Also, try rolling up a towel and place it behind his lower back to allow some type of relief from the cast pushing onto the legs...they may be falling asleep. Hope this helps! " psuvoy@... Guest guest
Okay ... so this sounds like a total cop out ... BUT ... we bought my son portable DVD players after his cast, and it worked like a charm. We didn't have a huge issue other than the first few days with screaming in the car ... but either way, the DVDs are a huge distraction. However, as I'm sure you are ... be sure there is no physical problem. If it seems to be just frustration ... you could always try the DVDs. Hope that helps!
