This book arrived by post yesterday. I started reading it straight away and

couldn't put it down. It was utterly absorbing. In chapter 1 Professor Trishia

Greenhalgh's criticisms of the Lancet paper are comprehensively demolished. For

example, after stating that the paper does not state a research hypothesis, she

then went on to address the question " was this design an appropriate way to test

the research hypothesis? "

One striking fact revealed in chapter 9 was that Professor Sir Rutter,

an expert witness for the GMC prosecution, was the first to report an

association between vaccines and autism in a paper published in 1994!

I'm sure most of the readers of this forum are familiar with the circumstances

of Wakefield's " trial " , but if, like me, you have sceptical friends and

relatives (perhaps Times readers!), you should persuade them to read this book.
