Guest guest
Hi My son (14 months) is having his first MRI scan tomorrow. He's got an S shaped spine - top angle 38*, lower angle 26* and he's getting serial soft casts, each of which stays on for 2 weeks. What should the MRI scan cover? I tried to find out at the last cast, but was simply told "the radiographers are very experienced and know what they're doing". Great. That put me in my place, didn't it (!) Obviously the spine needs to be covered, but I thought that maybe the head and hips should be too (both could show abnormalities - either things that are causing the scoliosis such as tethered spinal cord, or wonky hips). As the appt is tomorrow (Tuesday) and I'm in the UK, a prompt reply would be great :-) Thank you! Best wishes Alison
