Guest guest
I think I've posted this before. Here's a study about a man whose speech and swallowing was affected by botulism. Botulism blocks acetylcholine. Have a look at the side effects of lack of acetylcholine does: <<alteration in mobility, tonicity and sensibility of the organs of the Orofacial Myofunctional System (OMSs); reduction of the laryngeal movements; stasis of saliva in the oral cavity; absence of the swallowing reflex; absence of the swallowing function.>> Does this sound like your child? Here's the study: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17710348?ordinalpos=5 & itool=EntrezSystem2.PEn\ trez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_DefaultReportPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum Two things come to mind about acetylcholine. 1. In this study obviously acetylcholine was blocked by the toxin botulism. This is a clostridia species..... 2. In others with speech & swallowing difficulties, if it is indeed due to lack of ACh, then it could be sulfite build-up which is preventing manufacture of ACh. This goes back to the 4 heavy metals (lead arsenic, cadmium and mercury) preventing the conversion of sulfite to sulfate. too much sulfite will cut aport the thiamine molecule which is need for the ACh Plan of action: Start with the lead because there's something gentle and sensible one can do to remove and prevent re-accumulation: 1. The best tolerated Vitamin c 4 times a day 2.Citrus pectin (has a good history of removing metals from the environment as well as bodies) 3. Thiamine-small doses throughout the day 4. Pre-germinated brown rice.....buy from a website or as one person in Swansea is experimenting with it, sprout brown in a warm place in front of your sunny window (Good luck!) For more ideas (ie bacopa, wormwood, fibre etc.) and studies backing up the above, see the file I uploaded titled: Nutrition and lead.
