Guest guest
Hey!Logan was diagnoses at 5 months old. After being diagnosed we were sent to 4 seperate specialist, Duke, UNC, ped ortho from Harvard and a locan ped ortho, none of which ever heard or offered casting. So bouncing between specialist, we did get an MRI. I scowered the internet for another answer, which is when I found ISOP and then found Shrinners in SC. We were seen at shrinners when Logan was 8 months old, and he was casted at 9 months old. I am glad to hear that Logan is doing so well. If you don't mind my asking, at what age was Logan diagnosed and what were the steps from initial diagnosis to casting treatment? > > Hey! > Welcome! We live in northern NC and travel to greenville SC, shriners hospital for Logan's casting. There are no docs in NC that do casting. Wait, I think Duke just started this past November, but the do not have a lot of experience with the procedure. I think if you go north, Erie PA has a hospital and there seems to be another hospital in the DC area....I think. We started casting Logan at 9 months old. His curve was 45 degrees. He is now just out of his #11 and as of out of cast xray post #9 he was 9 degrees out of cast. It has been a LONG journey and we are still not through, but has been the best decision that we made for our lil boy. > This group is full of wonderful people with wonderful advice! Good luck with you and your lil boy! >  > Attached pics: > first two and 45 degrees and a lot of rotation. > last 2 are where we are now and we keep praying its our final cast. =) >  > > Logan's mama (45 down to 9 out of cast, 2 years old) > > > ________________________________ > From: cynsereno <cynsereno@...> > infantile scoliosis treatment > Sent: Saturday, January 28, 2012 8:29 PM > Subject: Introduction - Kenley 4 months old > > > >  > > Hello, > > I am new to the group from the Northern Virginia area. My daughter Kenley has been diagnosed with Scoliosis with a 23 degree curve. We have an appointment with Children's National in Fairfax, VA on Monday. Does anyone have experience with the Dr's in this area? I have been doing as much research as I can online regarding this diagnosis and the resources available in the Washington, D.C. area, but am getting overwhelmed...any information is appreciated. > > Thank you >
