We went to children's in polis and saw Dr kelly then went to Shriners in Philadelphia . We ended up closer to home with Dr Blakemore at Children's in Fairfax. My daughter was casted on Monday at Children's in DC with Dr B and went from a 60 degree curve to 28 in cast . We loved Shriners in Philly and would have done the casting there if it were closer but after talking with the doctors at Children's and hearing they do the same Mehta casting techniques at Shriners we felt comfortable staying closer to home. We even spoke to the doctor at Shriners on the phone about going to children's and they were very familiar with the doctor there and made us feel comfortable using her. Out daughter was very comfortable with the entire process. We really liked the casting staff at fairfax who took care of trimming our daughter's cast the next day. She is loving her cast and handled everything so much better than we could imagine. Since we are in the northern va area too we would be more than happy to chat or meet if you need to go over anything or see our daughters cast, she loves showing it off!!! I know how upsetting and scary this is as well as overwhelming so please feel free to reach out or email me if you want.Good luckSent from my iPodOn Jan 28, 2012, at 8:29 PM, " cynsereno " <cynsereno@...> wrote: Hello,I am new to the group from the Northern Virginia area. My daughter Kenley has been diagnosed with Scoliosis with a 23 degree curve. We have an appointment with Children's National in Fairfax, VA on Monday. Does anyone have experience with the Dr's in this area? I have been doing as much research as I can online regarding this diagnosis and the resources available in the Washington, D.C. area, but am getting overwhelmed...any information is appreciated.Thank you=
