Oh, what was your process - when did you add the peels? I have some dried

Clementine peels that I dehydrated under 105 degrees to keep all it's

properties and would LOVE to flavor my kombucha with them!

Subject: orange peel for fizz!!

Hi,

I'm in the midst of (my second) second ferment. I just burped the

bottles, and the ones which I'd flavored with dried orange peel were

very, very fizzy, in case anyone is interested in using this for flavor

or effect.

Hi ,

I popped the dried orange peel into individual bottles as I was pouring

off the KT from the first ferment. I leave the individual bottles to

ferment a second time for about a week or so, then I strain and

refrigerate.

Good luck with your clementine peels ... they sound terrific!

Well, one of my tries at growing a scoby is forming a shimmery veil on the

top. The other one has alot of bubbles, but I think it might just do it

too. Does this sound like it is going to work up?

So, can someone explain this about first and second fermentation? And how

do I know when I should " take off " some kombucha. How do you do that? Just

pour it and try to keep the scoby in the container and then immediately feed

(keeping some of the first brew with the scoby)?

And so then you can add berries and other things to this, and let it brew

longer, which is the second fermentation?

Do I do things differently because I didn't start with a scoby and am trying

to grow one? Do I wait 7 days or so and feed it again, before I take some

KT off?
