Guest guest
When logan was first casted, we used Mylacon drops. That seemed to help him. We also put Logan's changing table pad in his crib. It was spongey, so it helped him with comfort with the cast. Turning over was a little tough in the beginning for him, but he learned his own magic move to help him flip. No that he is 2 we still use the changing table pad for washing hair at the sink. - From: rachelmjacobs <rachelmjacobs@...> infantile scoliosis treatment Sent: Wednesday, March 7, 2012 8:14 AM Subject: Very gassy after being casted Mommy and Daddy's I need your advice yet again! Ella (5 1/2 months) was just casted for the first time this past Monday. She is VERY gassy now. She burps a lot as well. She isn't throwing up or having diarrhea (she is having slightly runny stools though). Did anyone else have a child experience these things after receving the cast? Could it be because of the anesthesia or her body just adjusting to the cast? The thought of it being too tight is looming at the back of my mind... My heart is just breaking for her. She's unable to sleep more than an hour or so before screaming due to gas cramps. Not to mention she can't get comfortable because of the cast. Any thoughts are appreciated,
Guest guest
We went through the same issues with our son and his first cast. We thought the cast was too tight and were concerned as well. Our son was very gassy and burped a lot too after getting his first cast. He was also gassy the other times he had to have anesthesia so we were not surprised. We did give him Mylicon gas drops for a few days and gave him smaller meals more often which seemed to help.ErynMom to Brayden of 17 months From: rachelmjacobs <rachelmjacobs@...> infantile scoliosis treatment Sent: Wednesday, March 7, 2012 8:14 AM Subject: Very gassy after being casted Mommy and Daddy's I need your advice yet again! Guest guest
My son just got his cast on at the end of last month and he has been burping often!!! I had no idea this was a " cast thing " . Guest guest
I'm having a bit of trouble with the smaller meals portion of all this- Ella is still strickly breastfed so she just sort of eats what's available and it's really hard to pull her off if she isn't finished. It involves a lot of screaming to be honest. While I'm so sorry that other children have had to deal with the gassy issue, I'm so thankful that Ella isn't a unique case and that you all are here to help reassure me. I'm so thankful for this group! > > > > When logan was first casted, we used Mylacon drops. That seemed to help him. We also put Logan's changing table pad in his crib.
