Guest guest
Hope you get good news!!! I'm interested to hear how things are going. Best wishes, 's mom (8-years old in cast) From: Haviland <stacy.haviland@...> "infantile scoliosis treatment " <infantile scoliosis treatment >; "Infantile_Juvenile_Scoliosis " <Infantile_Juvenile_Scoliosis > Sent: Tuesday, February 14, 2012 10:35 AM Subject: Chicago Shriners appointment Good morning, My husband and I are taking to Chicago Shriners for a check-up tomorrow. He's been wearing his brace for 4 months now. I was excited to think we'll get to see x-rays to see how he's doing, but the nurse told me yesterday that it's just a clinical check...no x-rays. I know I should be happy that he's not getting exposed to more radiation than necessary, but I just really want to see what's going on inside there! He wore a night-time only brace for a year and his scoliosis progressed. I want to know that this full-time brace is worth it. After 4 months, I think his back looks better. I know it looks different, and the brace fits differently and needs adjustment. I'm just afraid I'm being overly optimistic in thinking it looks better. I know braces are not expected to correct the curves, but I can't help but think it looks better. I guess I just wanted confirmation now rather than hoping for 4 more months only to be crushed with bad news later. I think I've been holding my breath all this time. Anyway, I was just curious if anyone else will be at Chicago Shriners tomorrow? Our appointment is at 1:45. I would love to meet anyone else from this group! Sorry for the rambling sidetrack. He's been in it for over 4 months now!! I anticipate a new cast around the end of March. We'll see what the doc thinks. Hope you got good news!!
