Guest guest
Hello I was going to respond just to you but I wanted the group to hear the absurdidty of insurance companies ( maybe it is only a NY thing but I doubt it) My insurance company HIP Access I denied paying for Dr. Vitale who does casting for pediatrics ( our son is 22 months old) because they had two other doctors that cast. Well I called the doctors to check them out. One doctors office sounded very nice and I inquired about casting to which she said " yeah, the doctor will cast if he needs it" when asked if they have a casting table ( mind you , i know the answer since we have been researching the East Coast already) she said, "Oh, you dont need a table, he can cast". I said thank you and hung up. Doctor number 2 from the great insurance company- I said 'Hi, I am calling about my 22 month old son" and was politely cut off to a woman saying'Oh, this Doctor does not see children" THANK YOU VERY MUCH HIP INSURANCE. I called back Columbia and am hoping to have a case to appeal. In the meantime , we are scheduled to see Dr. Cayhill in Philadelphia on Tuesday. Wow, all this craze BEFORE casting. We were looking for practical advice from anyone out there in terms of diapering, car seat, stroller, etc. This will be our son's first cast and we dont know after that= he has approx. 35 degree curve that has progressed over the year Thank you in advance to all of you and hope to be in touch with you Zehava Cohen mom to Binyamin 22 month's old
