Guest guest
Hello, Where in BC do you live ?? We are in langley. My son thaddeus Is the only child being casted at bcch. We fought hard to get Dr R to be trained and to cast him. We are now on cast #6 and Will be having a break for the summer. Once you see the pediatrician and get trays you will need to be referred to children's i must warn you when thaddeus was referred over 3.5 years ago it took 8 months to see Dr R because there is only two drs that specialize in spine in all of bc .important not sure what the wait list is now. I love Dr R and couldntt be happier with bcch . The casting is covered under msp but braces are not. You will have to use extend health or pay out of pocket and the are expensive. There are some other mom from bc that travel to SLC and really like it. If you have angle other question you can email Me privately Mommy to thaddeus 3 yrs Sent from Samsung MobileSent from Samsung Mobile wrote: Hi all, My g.p suspects that our little 7 month old daughter may have scoliosis. We have suspected something was wrong for some time and we even brought the subject up 5 weeks ago at her check up as the left side of her back looked more developed and slightly curved/bulges. Also, her rib cage does not look symmetrical on either side, it seems to be slightly lower set on the right. I wasn't very familiar with scoliosis and have been doing some research since we found out a few days ago. We are presently waiting for an appointment with a pediatrician so hope that we won't have to wait too long for that. In the meantime we are at the stage where we need a high chair and are not sure whether there are certain brands that would be recommended by any of you. We want something that offers good posture for babies with this condition. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have also been reading about casting and living in British Columbia, Canada, we were wondering whether there any doctors in this province who would be able to do the casting if it comes to that? Also, would the fees be covered by Medical Services Plan? I really look forward to any responses and also to communicating with other parents who are in the same situation as us. I wish you all the best with your little ones and their treatment.

Guest guest
Welcome to CAST! When you get a chance pls go to the Resource page of www.infantilescoliosis.org to dwnld/read the original published, medical journal on Early Treatment. Its titled “Growth as a corrective force in the Early Treatment of progressive infantile scoliosis,” by Mehta, MD, FRCS…. Also, view A New Direction DVD which can be found in the Youtube portion of site (in 3 parts). Both of these items, along with feedback from experienced parents here on CAST will help you greatly in understanding the necessary ET principles and cast life in general. Please keep the questions coming.HRH From: infantile scoliosis treatment [mailto:infantile scoliosis treatment ] On Behalf Of Sent: Monday, March 12, 2012 6:18 PMinfantile scoliosis treatment Subject: New member: Questions Hi all,My g.p suspects that our little 7 month old daughter may have scoliosis.
