Guest guest
Hello all!My son (16 months) is currently in his first cast as of 9/8/11. I just wanted to run something by you all to see if you have noticed this in your own children: Due to the pressure exerted by the top portion of the cast ('s is under the arms)...it looks like 's sternum is being pushed outwards. If I rub my fingers down the front opening of the cast, I can actually feel and see the point at the bottom tip of his sternum making a small "cone" on his chest just above his belly. Have you all felt this too? Will it go back to a normal position after each cast is removed? I think I am just concerned that we are creating a chest wall deformity through casting ... especially with it being so obvious in only his first cast. Please let me know! Thanks!
