Guest guest
Hi all! Soooo, Layla-boo (now 22 months old) had her first MRI when she was right about 1 year old, and at that time everything seemed normal. Her ortho said he felt strongly about getting another ASAP because of how rapidly her scoliosis was progressing and not responding to casting, turnbuckles, etc.....Curvature got up to 97 degrees and still in high 70s in cast w/ turnbuckles adjusted once per week!!! Well, we had the MRI, saw the neurosurgeon this past Thursday, and turns out, she has a tethered spinal cord. Long story short, she's scheduled for surgery, for detethering this Wednesday, the 31st. Sort of bitter-sweet for me....finally have (possible) answers, and he said this surgery may save her from countless scoliosis correction surgeries. However, I'm sort of scared to death. She's itty-bitty, 2 ft, 11 in, only weighing 22 lbs. Just want some feedback, stories, ideas to keep me going......Anyone??? Thanks for listening Trantham
