According to the Knit-Rite website, XS is only about 4 " inches wide when laid

flat, on a table -- and 12 " long -- but it stretches quite a bit, I think? (The

person I spoke to on the phone said it was more like 6 " inches, laid flat. So

I'm not quite sure what's true.)

Anyway, I was told to order an XS for my son, Teddy, whose first cast date is

(FINALLLLYYYYYYY!) on December 5th. He is two, now, but only 22 pounds and below

zero on standard growth charts.

So . . . If any of those who already called dibs think they're kid is too large,

and therefore a shirt is still up for grabs, we'd love one for tiny Teddy. :-)

THANKS SO MUCH, EITHER WAY!!!!

Hey! They always use the XS on Sierra...it stretches like a knit sock!!! Sierra has been casting since 12 mo. & is now 2 1/2 and 24 lbs. so ya’ll should be fine. Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, AL. always provides us with the shirt! I would NOT cast without it! We will be going for our 9th cast on Dec. 2nd & we go about 3 months at a time in one cast & have never had any skin issues at all! By the next morning after cast removal you can not even tell Sierra has had a cast on for 3 plus months & we live on the Gulf Coast of Alabama...talk about heat & humidity...ugh!!! Good luck on your 1st casting! It does get a little easier each time!

Kristi Mommy to Sierra 34 Degrees down to ZERO in cast....Been casting since April 2010...She still at 16 degrees out of cast. Going for 9th cast Dec. 9th 2011. Sierra has a skinny pheno-type..with a very stiff spine!!!

Hi Ladies,

Our little man is 6 and he is in the size Medium. I, too, have extra tank top style shirts if needed. They are size Small and I have about 6 or 7 of them. I'm happy to mail them to whoever needs any or all of them. They are used, but still good and clean. Drop me an email and I'll get them right out :) susanrhannah@...

Thanks for that info.

e has just turned 3, but also tiny!

Her 1st Mehta style cast is going to be early next year. (She had a cast at age

1 but they have tried bracing since).

Here in australia they don't usually use anything underneath, but I would love

to try one this time. She has pressure sores off and on and we live in country

aust where it can get very hot :)

Thanks again for the info

Louise
