Guest guest
Hi all, So, does anybody have any " tried and true " tips for improving a child's spinal flexibility? Is it even possible? I'd love to know. Thanks! ~

Guest guest
Hey everyone! Jumping on this as a segway....has anyone heard if once they get to the brace, if swimming is a good idea to strengthen back muscles? I mean it seems like a good idea. I also thought of yoga but I think keeping the 2 year olds focus for yoga will be a big FAIL! lol! Is there anyother sport that anyone knows about? Guest guest
Yes! Our Dr said its the best thing for Thaddeus to do because the water supports the spine and the time in the pool doesn't count as out of brace time. We are going to brace this summer and i hope to get to the pool 5 days a week to build muscleand balance :-)Sent from Samsung Mobile Medlin wrote: Hey everyone! Guest guest
Thanks, all. I guess I should be more clear: Is it possible to do safely and effectively do stretches/exercises to improve spinal flexibility with a 2-year-old child currently wearing a cast??? If so, do you have any tips on how to get your child to cooperate? Thanks again!
Guest guest
Swimming is one of the best activities a person with scoli can do for flexibility/exercise/strength.. Its non weight bearing and gravity cannot take effect. Its super fun too after not having access to water activities while in cast. Have fun! Guest guest
Liv had ringers (spinning) in the kitchen that she loved to hang from. There may be pictures of them in the photo section. We had to be sure they were secured safely and that someone was there to spot her every time she was done, so she wouldnt get too dizzy and fall. HRH > Thanks, all.
