Guest guest
We go to Texas ish Rite. We like it there and have been going over a year. Make sure you bring all paperwork, xrays, ect bc on your first appointment they will evaluate everything. The mcdonald house is right down the road and very convient. We stay there every time. Maybe we will meet you! Make sure you call tsrh once in awhile to check on your patient status while waiting to become a patient. It took us awhile to get thhrough that whole process. This past week, I took it upon myself (with his pedi's referral) to apply to Texas ish Rites in Dallas. Guest guest
I agree with Tame. We have also had a great experience at ish Rite hospital. I agree with taking all info and x-rays and questions that you want to ask. I know it is so hard waiting and wondering what everything means. Praying you get answers and that you get into SR soon. Guest guest
As a side note my son also has multiple issues and at our 1st appt the doc was already consulting w docs in other departments going over xray films when we left. The first apt took about 4 hours so pack snacks! You will have to go to several departments. Guest guest
Hi Dawn, I'm sorry that you and lil Latham have been through so much already. Good job on following your maternal intuition and insisting that a spine film was taken! Many cases of infantile scoliosis are self resolving, so hopefully this will be the case with Latham...But, its better to find out asap in order to properly advocate for him. The team at ish Rite has a lot of experience with PIS and will be able to answer most questions you have on the condition and if he is a candidate for Mehtas early Treatment. May I recommend a couple of items to help get you started in understanding the necessary principles of this gentle & corrective treatment? Please read " Growth as a corrective force in the Early Treatment of progressive infantile scoliosis, " Mehta, MD, FRCS which can be found on site or in the Files section of CAST. Also, view A New Direction DVD which can be found in the youtube portion of www.infantilescoliosis.org (in 3 parts). These 2 items are super helpful in understanding this process, so please let us know if you have any questions after you've had time to review. Please keep us posted and welcome to CAST!
