Guest guest
Are you sure he is tolerating all the supps you are giving? Does he suffer from reflux, gas, ? Are there any particular times when he has and episode, after eating? before eating? Do you have a supplement and food diary to monitor any reactions even from supplements that have been used for a while. cannot tolerate all probio's or all fish oils or B Vits. Are you using enzymes, does he have a problem with fats or carbs, citrus fruits? Guest guest
ChrisoDo you give him any calmers like 5HTP or Lithium Orotate as those have worked wonders on my boys (and me!). Have you done a stool test recently to check for inflammation? Have you tried the SCD diet to see if that helps or had food intolerance testing done?I know it's hard but it will get better...Autism Treatment From: Mum231ASD@...Date: Fri, 14 May 2010 15:21:27 -0400Subject: Re: Mandi Send >>I'm sorry Chriso I don't know, Sam doesn;t tantrum or self harm, he gets aggressive with those around him born I think of frustration and having no idea why he feels like he does. Guest guest
I hadn't noticed the bit about the charcoal, that could definitely contribute to constipation. How long has he been having it every night? If you look back, is there any correlation between the time you started giving it regularly and the onset of the self harming and aggression? I think it would be worth stopping it to see if it makes a difference.Joanne>> > Hi Chriso> > Personally I wouldn't be giving charcoal every night as this can be very constipating which can cause these behaviours. It should really only be given where there is severe die off - I would give oxypowder at night instead. One of my kids does not tolerate oxypowder, this could be a problem? You could try increasing magnesium and C, and adding prune juice instead. How much lithium do you give? Depending on his age/weight you can give from 2-6 caps quite safely. This has been really good for my older son's aggression. I would also recommend a parasite cleanse. Have you done any testing recently and do you know whether he has any inflammation, yeast, bacteria, parasites?> > > > > Autism Treatment > > From: tryfonas@...> > Date: Fri, 14 May 2010 23:28:04 +0300> > Subject: Mandi> > > > 5 HTP is in 2 in the morning with theanine,, fish oil, Probios, charcoal at night just before bed and oxy first thing to get toxins out during the day... Guest guest
I've not followed this thread completely, sorry, but if there are gut issues they can certainly be related to lectins in things like chickpeas and unsoaked almonds. I had to google Spry. I'd never heard of it and I found out Cyprus is apparently the only place you can still buy it. I personally think that high fat diets are good for most kids with ASD, but the fats have to be good fats: coconut, fat from organic and pastured animals, butter from organic and pastured cows, fish oils, etc. Most processed fats probably wouldn't be considered good fats and rather than aiding detox and building strong cells, are likely doing the opposite. A lot of kids also need to be taking lipase and making supporting bile production too, for proper absorption. I have said this before, but I'll agree here that gf/cf diets often don't have any healing components to them. If you can get coconut flour and coconut oil and your child tolerates nuts (soaked and then dried would be my recommendation, but if the gut is in rough shape, I would leave nuts out for at least a few months) there are lots of good SCD recipes for cookie-ish things. Anita > > > I would honestly take those cookies out, my boy would be doubled over > eating that much fat, someone must have a recipe for cookies that would be > better [i don't as we don't eat cookies].
