Guest guest
We arrived home around 2. had set up the couch for with pillows and blankets. Made sure she was comfortable and ever since has proceeded to bug the crap out of her! Ahhh siblings! She even looks better since we got home. Her back isn't really bothering her and I am still getting over the fact that there is just one 2 x 4" bandage on her back and not a huge bandage covered with Tegaderm. But, he did only lengthen the longer of the 2 rods. The shorter could not be lengthened any more, so he only had to make one incision. Her surgeon said her next surgery would probably be in about 9 months and would involve replacing her current VEPTR rods with the VEPTR II. (9 months would be March - Wonder if I could get that scheduled for Spring Break? Although we may have to wait depending on when her dance recital is next year and go with the beginning of summer vacation again.) She's eating, drinking and moving around well. We are both exhausted because: hospital plus nighttime does not necessarily equal SLEEP! Stupid beeping, buzzing, whining machines! Other than that, all is good!
