Darn Allan... it's never boring around you is it? I assume you are home and all better now? Good thing you had that appointment, huh?

Llinda

Hiya folks,

The fun just keeps coming.

Yesterday I go to the opthamologist for my annual diabetic eye exam and wound going to the hospital in an ambulance!

Seems I had an allergic/drug reaction to the eye drops of all things. I was well on my way to anaphylactic shock until they banged me with epinephrine and an antidote. Only blacked out once in the ER.

What a pisser. I went to the same ER in an ambulance a year and one week ago to the day (pneumonia that time). Comedy of errors getting me out of the eye doctor's office on the gurney. They sent 2 rather small EMT"s and I'm a rather LARGE guy and they had to pick the gurney up to make a tight turn in the hall.

Sheesh and I didn't even get any morphine LOL. Lots of yummy O2 though.

Allan with 2 L's just a fun guy

Hi Llinda,

Yes, I'm back and doing fine. Thanks!

It was a great doctor visit for sure. I wonder if I'll get a bill for the co-pay LOL.

Allan with 2 L's still needs a new script for glasses

Gee Gail,

That's a good question! I hadn't even thought of that. Although while we were waiting for the ambulance the doctor completed the exam LOL. At least I have the names of the drugs for the future.

Allan with 2 L's no diabetic damage to the peepers at least

RE: The fun keeps coming

You get into trouble just about everywhere don't you.I wonder how they are going to check your eyes from now on.Bet that doctor won't be happy to see you for the next eye exam.

When they ask for allergies put them on your medical papers.Keep a copy of everything you are allergic to drug wise in your wallet so if you are incapasitated they will see what you are allergic too.My daughter used to have her kidneys checked every six months from the time she was three yrs until she was 13.They would put a dye in her bloodstream and slowly put the dye in while being exrayed so they could see how much kidney damage she had.At 13 she developed a sudden allergic reaction to the drug and had to give her a needle cause her respiratory system was shutting down.Allergies are weired.
