Guest guest
Does anyone know what the approximate ratio of Vitamin A to D should be? Do you all supplement both? This has probably been discussed in the past and I may have missed it, so apologies for this. I've just been reading on Dr Mercola and what caught my attention was that Vit A blocks Vit D's effect. This has got me thinking and needing to perhaps review how we supplement A & D here. Here's the link from Mercola (hope it works):- http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2010/03/16/warning-new-proof-confirms-if-you-take-this-supplement-vitamin-d-will-not-work-as-well.aspx and the link to the recent BMJ paper confirming that low vitamin D levels are a risk factor for developing colon cancer and showing that the benefits of vitamin D are almost entirely negated in those with the highest vitamin A (retinol) intake:- http://www.bmj.com/cgi/content/full/340/jan21_3/b5500?maxtoshow= & HITS=10 & hits=10 & RESULTFORMAT= & fulltext=jenab & searchid=1 & FIRSTINDEX=0 & sortspec=date & resourcetype=HWCIT
