You should be pros already then! I'm sure diapering w/the spica cast was hard so

that part shouldn't phase you. Just avoid, water, sand and hot weather and you

shall be set! Ask any questions that may come up. Best of wishes!

Great news! Please read “Growth as a corrective force in the Early Treatment of progressive infantile scoliosis,” by Mehta which can be found in Files section of this group, if you haven’t already…..This published journal will show you exactly what a Mehta/EDF cast should look like. It will also help you to understand Early Treatment principles which are KEY to acquire complete resolution of scoli. The cast care section should be helpful too. Please keep us posted on how well it goes and how quickly she adjusts.Sincerely,HRH From: infantile scoliosis treatment [mailto:infantile scoliosis treatment ] On Behalf Of abacusbeadsSent: Saturday, June 11, 2011 9:23 PMinfantile scoliosis treatment Subject: First Mehta cast next week Our daughter is 16 months old and will have her first Mehta cast placed next week. Hi there, my niece also had casts for hip dysplasia and my son is in Mehta casts for IS. Have you seen on www.infantilescoliosis.org on the left hand side in blue, there is a link titled "What to Expect..."If you click on that link it will open some parent tips I put together on the first casting day and bathing/diapering tips. I believe the link is now next to Dr. Mehta's photo if you scroll down on the home page. Hope this helps and we are here for any questions.
